About MCQ Quiz
A simple quiz app with a twist: Blind Challenge, inspired by a real discovery.
The Origin Story
Back in Primary 6, Willy wrote a simple MCQ program. Years later, he noticed something:
"As a P6 child writing MCQs, it was obvious what the answer was. If the question was 'What is Pi?', my 4 answers would be 3.13, 3.14, 3.15, 3.41. The right answer is always related to the wrong ones — because the writer already has the answer in mind."
He called this Examiner's Psychology — the idea that MCQ choices are actually clues to the right answer. The examiner unconsciously clusters wrong answers around the truth.
He tested it on his JC Geography MCQ exam: hiding the questions and only looking at the answer choices. He scored over 70%.
"Even if the examiners knew about this, they can't get away from it — otherwise they'd make the MCQ too easy for those who actually study."
Blind Challenge lets you try this yourself. Can you beat random chance (25% for 4 choices, 20% for 5) using only the answer choices?
